Last Monday, Aug 17, I was one of the thousands of Argentines who rallied to protest, among other things, against the fishy rush to reform the justice system, in the midst of the world pandemic and our own catastrophic economic and social crisis. All of us wore face masks and kept social distancing. None of us screamed or yelled frantically (as the President later said). We just waved our Argentine flags and sang the national anthem, while walking around Belgrano Square in City Bell, La Plata. People of all ages and, most likely, different political preferences. Common people, average citizens, tired of this unending lockdown, of the lack of perspectives and the narrow mindedness of our leaders, who have chosen –once again- not to listen to this legitimate claim of a big part of the population.
