Some changes in the cast. A couple of actors dismissed and replaced by others. New costume designers, too. Deadly black giving way to luminous white (deliberate “coup de théâtre”). A new stage director, smiling and talkative guy, relaxed and easy-going, apparently open to dialogue. A certain feeling of relief in the air, of having more oxygen, less tension, more spontaneity, even a bit of freedom to improvise. However, if the script is exactly the same, if the writers don’t alter a single comma, if the changes are merely cosmetic, superficial, “pour la gallerie”, I’m afraid this Argentine-shakesperian tragedy will remain intact till the final curtain.
