I can understand that many people, like Roger Waters, are pro-Palestinian activists. But does that necessarily imply that they should justify the brutal attack by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in southern Israel on October 7, that killed more than 1,000 civilians? In the last few days, there have been some worrying hotspots of anti-Semitism and hostility toward Israel at the Filosofía y Letras faculty at the University of Buenos Aires. Threatening signs and banners against Israel and the Jewish people; Palestinian flags, swastikas. Being pro-Palestinian and defending the rights of the Palestinian people does not equal being anti-Semitic or pro-terrorism, does it? Terrorism should always be condemned. Period.
