He must be kidding, right? He can’t be serious! Or maybe I’ve just misread it. Let me see. Here it is: “Frankly, I don’t believe in economic plans. I believe in goals”. Who said this? Alberto Fernández, our President. I would ask him a very simple question: how on earth can you achieve a goal without a plan??? And he’s a professor, mind you! Maybe he doesn’t believe in syllabi either. This is the least soothing comment anyone could make in the midst of this unending uncertainty we are all immerged in! And if that person is the maximum leader of a nation, it’s much worse still. Who would have voted for him had he/she known this beforehand? I mean, that the candidate didn´t “believe in economic plans”? On the other hand, his “confession” seems more than obvious: this administration looks like an Improv group, with no clear guidelines. And although this might sound awkward, this deadly pandemic has served as an ally, catching everybody’s attention, overshadowing all the other important issues the government should be dealing with in the meantime. The President’s brutal honesty has left me speechless. Now we know. No plan, guys. Sink or swim. Sigh …
