Last Monday,  Whatsapp, Instagram and Facebook suffered an unexpected interruption that lasted long hours and affected millions of users all over the world. This global blackout has revealed how dependent we are on those means of communication. But for those of us who were born in the pre-technological era, last entury to be more precise,  the times when there was just one home phone in the neighborhood, this “catastrophe” was not so dramatic. Instead of sending messages, we were forced to talk to one another again, not at all bad for a change. A slap in the face on our cocky nature. We are too conceited, too self- sufficient, and events like this one, plus the 19 Covid pandemic, strip our fragility and vulnerability. It’s definitely no easy street guys, as the Psychedelic Furs song goes…
