“AI” tells us: The “Adopt, Don’t Shop” movement encourages people to rescue homeless pets from shelters instead of buying them from breeders or pet stores. I wonder why there’s never been a consistent movement in Argentina fostering child adoption. There are thousands of kids and teenagers in the public foster care system, and many families who would like to adopt them. The legal process here is far from easy, though. Meanwhile, those kids grow up without affection, suppressing emotions, with basic needs unfulfilled. A pity for both sides, willing parents and deprived children. I believe an adoption promotion campaign would be more than welcome.
