I wonder if Flávio Bolsonaro’s and Donald Trump’s recent poll defeats have hit home yet. Do these warnings get through to Javier Milei? Will he finally pay attention to these crystalclear messages from the people? Or will he go on staying in denial? I’m sure that these events have struck a nerve. There’s a world tendency that shouldn’t be ignored nor underestimated. “Whoever has ears, let them hear,” said Jesus. The thing is, you’ve got to be willing to hear, to listen, to make real contact with real people, their needs, their complaints, their feelings, their opinions, their lacks. So far, Milei’s administration doesn’t seem to have paid heed to these issues. Moreover, the man/woman in the street feels he couldn’t care less. Probably these days, in campaign mode, they’ll start making all sorts of promises as a last resort. Lie to me (“mentíme que me gusta”). Sigh …
