Last Monday I was watching the “Estrella de Mar” Awards, and couldn’t believe my eyes or ears. Winners were not allowed to say anything after receiving the prize ‘cause they were not given microphones to do so. You had to so some sort of lip reading to guess what they were trying to say before being taken away from the stage. Something similar happened at the Mar del Plata Cinema Festival last November. Winners were not allowed to thank or say anything at all. Smells fishy, doesn’t it?  Was it censorship? Were the organizers afraid of artists’ comments against the present administration? I believe all the actors, actresses, dancers, musicians, directors, etc, present at the “Estrella de Mar” ceremony, should have stood up and walked away, as soon as they realized that they wouldn’t be able to speak freely.  But they chose to stay. Sigh…
