It seems Milei’s chainsaw is out of control. This symbol of his agenda has aimed at shrinking the state and slashing bureaucracy. Quite reasonable – but as time goes by, many essential areas are being deeply affected by his policy. He doesn’t seem to take into account that investing money and resources in science, research, health, education, art, security, infrastructure is not a waste. On the contrary. Many of Milei’s budget cuts seem unreasonable and insensitive. I wish he showed at least a pinch of the empathy he shows towards his dogs towards pensioners, people with disabilities and resident doctors. The end doesn’t justify the means, does it? Meanwhile, senators unscrupulously give themselves a rise overnight, now earning over nine million pesos a month. Shameful, unacceptable, unfair. Appalling callousness and inhumanity, that’s what we’re suffering nowadays. Sigh…
