Donald Trump and Javier Milei seem to have many things in common. They both have an extremely high opinion of themselves (“No tienen abuela,” we’d say in Argentina). They are cocky, conceited, show-offs. Quite vulgar and insulting in their discourse. Their hairstyles, outrageous. Both, clearly anti-establishment, anti -abortion, ultra conservative in many areas. At the end of the day, we wonder whether they’ve reached their respective presidencies in spite of their rude, ruthless manners or because of them. I guess the average citizen is fed up with traditional politicians, and doesn’t trust them any longer. We’d rather run a risk and choose “the crazy guy” instead. These days the saying “a known evil is better than an unknown good,” doesn’t hold true any longer.
