When I was a child, I used to have imaginary friends, invisible to the rest. I even gave them full names and features, and still remember them fondly. Somehow, I link this to the Fernández’ administration, ‘cause they seem to make up and collect imaginary enemies during this endless pandemic. Runners came first, supposedly spreading the virus while jogging. Then, all the parents who wanted to send their children back to kindergarten and schools, so that they could make contact with other kids. The countryside has always been the main target of kirchnerism, in spite of the fact that cattle breeding and crops still are the biggest source of income. It goes without saying that the opposition is its arch enemy, and both Fernández keep blaming it for all our ills. These last few weeks, they’ve aimed at all those Argentines who dared to travel abroad (for pleasure, work or simply to get vaccinated), and don’t let them come back home. They keep punishing us: that’s their “expertise”. They scold and punish us all the time, as if we were spoilt brats. Hopefully, at the “PASO” (primary elections), they might realize many of us are fed up, responsible adults, who are longing for a change. We’ll see …
